RCUK Policy Internships Scheme – now open

The ESRC informed the WRDTC on 4th July 2017 that the latest call for the Research Council Policy Internships Scheme is now live for ESRC funded doctoral researchers.
(1) How to apply to the RCUK:
Applicants should complete the online application form. Applicants must also upload three documents before submitting their application; (i) A CV, (ii) A signed Funding and Permissions Form (see how to get this signed below) and (iii) A policy briefing by 10 August 2017.

(2) How to request Funding and Permission from the WRDTC:
- Submit your Funding and Permissions Form via email@example.com with a covering email explaining why you are applying to your chosen hosting organisation (max 300 words) : 12:00 noon, 21 July 2017
- WRDTC will email you the outcome of your request by : 17:00 hrs, 26 July 2017
The internship scheme provides the opportunity for Research Council-funded PhD students to work for three months in one of a selected group of highly influential policy organisations. You will be expected to produce at least one briefing paper, participate in a policy inquiry and/or organise a policy event, or equivalent piece of work.
Internships are awarded to a number of Parliamentary, Government Departments and Non-Governmental Bodies, Learned societies and organisations. The 22 Hosting Partners for the 2017/18 competition round are listed on the RCUK website page, along with further information on the scheme, documentation and guidance for applicants.
