“Participation for Real? Queering New Perspectives in Community Engagement”

Participatory research methods are committed to collaborative, community-based, and action-oriented research. Such ‘Action Research’ seeks to understand social phenomena with the research participants, and often promotes social transformation with the communities involved in the research.
This one-day seminar on Participatory Research Methods consists of:
- Guest speakers panel featuring leading practitioners of Participatory Research Methods,
- Showcasing of latest research work of postgraduate students,
- Early career researcher networking
A contribution toward transport costs, plus a lunch, will be provided.
Call for papers
Two Department of Geography PhD candidates, Ana Laura Zavala Guillen and Hazal Ilgaz Dolek, would like to invite PGR Students from across the WRDTP network to submit papers for this workshop, and will select three to present. The paper abstract should be 250 words maximum, with a short biography of up to 100 words. The deadline for submitting an abstarct is 15th of January 2018, and all the successful participants will be notified by the 22nd of January2018.
