Communications and Media Skills training with Dr Emily Grossman

Dr Emily Grossman – best known as a resident science expert on ITV’s The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Sky1’s celebrity panel-show Duck Quacks Don’t Echo and the Discovery Channel’s How Do They Do It – will be delivering this 2-day interactive workshop on effective science communication and public engagement.

Across the 2 days, Emily will look at the different forms that science communication can take as well as focussing on how to engage with the media and how to share complex ideas using a jargon-free, story-telling approach to engage a wide audience.

Who should attend:

This course is aimed at early career researchers, academics and research professionals. If you have a desire to improve your communication skills, to learn how to present your research in a clear and engaging way and to learn how to get the most out of working with the media, then this is the course for you.

There is no required knowledge or skills for attending this course, however participants are asked to prepare 2-3 minutes of material that you are happy to present in front of the group on day 2 and receive individual feedback on.

Course costs:

£120 for the 2 day course. This is a flat rate and there are no discounts available.
